hmmm... A quick look around the world, especially in nations with a functioning social democracy, corporations and personally wealthy candidates are expressly prohibited from flooding the elections with cash. This quote was the most intellectually dishonest part of the FPers diary and if it serves as the foundation of a political philosophy claiming to deliver the policy goods to the poor, the working classes and put upon middle class- it simply won't work. It's never worked anywhere else. These sorts of campaign finance rules essentially preclude most of the policies that lefties want.
